Create Animated GIFs on Android

If you want to share movies from your Android phone, making and sharing a quick animated GIF instead is definitely a better option than sharing the whole movie because it will consume a lot of your monthly bandwidth. An animated GIF can be made using GIF Droid. A video can be taken and turned into an animated GIF that you can send to anyone in seconds.
Instructions:
  • First install GIF Droid from the Android Market, and then open the application (app).
  • Click Select Video button. This will open your gallery to select a video. OR Click Record Video button. This will open your phone camera to record a video.
  • The section of the video you want to convert into an animated GIF can be chosen through sliding the grey bars at the start and end. Now click the Next button present at the extreme end of the screen.

  • To reduce the size of animation through cutting out unwanted sections, select frames from the video you would like to use. Now click on the Create GIF button at the extreme right end of the screen to pin down the project.
  • Preview your GIF and share by hitting the Share button (which is the second last button on the left side of the screen).
  • You can also rename the GIF by clicking the Rename button (which is the second last button on the right side of the screen).
  • You can make another GIF by tapping the Create another button from the extreme right end of the screen.
  • You can even delete the one you just made by pressing the Delete GIF button from the extreme left end of the screen.

Use Android Phone As Modem

Having a good Internet connection your phone is great, but it is definitely a let down if you can’t use the same phone as a modem for your computer. It is also cheaper to just use the same connection for both devices. Here is a really simple and quick way to use your Android Phone as a Modem for your PC.

It does not even require a rooted device. All you require are : An Android Phone with Internet connection, a computer , a little software called PDAnet and your Android phone’s USB Cable.

PDAnet is a great software to tether your Android Phone. But the full version costs around $15. It does allow a trial period and even after the trial period you can browse the Internet but the only problem is not being able to use secure connections. So you won’t be able to use Gmail etc. But if you are tethering just for emergency situations for browsing sites then should just use trial as you can always check your email from your phone. But buying the app for $15 is much better than paying around the same thing but on a monthly basis to your cellphone company.

Instructions:
  • First download PDAnet for your computer from HERE and install it as you would with any other software. It does not require any configuration. In case you don’t have Internet on your PC then don’t worry as you can download PDAnet PC software on your phone after installing PDAnet on it.
  • Next download PDAnet for your Android phone from HERE or just search for it in the Android Market.
  • After installing PDAnet on your Android phone run it. Then tap Enable USB Tether as in the picture.
  • Now just plug in your Android phone using your USB Cable and it will connect to the Internet Automatically, if it doesn’t then right click the PDAnet icon in the system tray and click Connect to the Internet.

PDAnet is also available for other OS such as Palm OS, Blackberry, iOS and Windows Phone and can used on Mac OSX also.

Insall Android In Your PC/Laptop

Mobile phones under the android platform always deserve a best place in market. So if you got messed with android OS and want to try it in your netbook or laptop here is the procedure to experiment it. You can install in your memory cards or flash drives to test android OS on your system.

Download android from Android-x86 and copy it in your flash drive or memory card. Scroll down and download it from the stable release section of the site. This will download an ISO file from the website. Also Make sure your memory device having memory more than 256MB and make your memory drive clean before copying android into it.
HOW TO INSTALL

Instructions:
  • Download UNetbootin (Universal Netboot Installer)
WINDOWS || LINUX || MAC OS X
Now I have downloaded UNetbootin for my windows platform. All you need to do is insert your drive which you going to install your android OS. UNetbootin extracts the ISO file of android OS which you downloaded and install it in the target disk. The first step of your installation is shown in the screen shot below.

After selecting the target disk, android will start extracting from ISO file and installed in your disk. Now your flash drive will get installed with android OS. This may take few minutes depending on the speed of your flash drive.

Once you get done with the process you will asked to reboot your system. If you wish you can reboot system immediately or else you just exit and run android when you want. Now your system is ready to run android OS. All you need to do is reboot your system with the flash drive. Change the boot setup to boot from removable disk.

In default it will be available to boot from your hard drive. So press F2 on reboot of your system. Go to Boot menu in the BIOS setup and change the boot setup to boot from removable disc. Then press F10 to save your changes and exit from BIOS setup. Now your system will restart and boot from your removable disc. This will bring a menu infront of you with the following options.

Select Live CD- Run Android-x86 without installation. Then your android OS will start booting and you need to wait for few minutes until it gets loaded. After a couple of minutes you will straightly get into your personal desktop. The default applications will be available on the home screen and for more applications go to menu and select the applications you need.

HOW TO USE IT ON PC/LAPTOP
By default android give access to webcam and Wi-Fi. So that after entering into the menu you can install the apps you need. You can carry your memory card or flash drive to anywhere and use your own android OS. But your apps installed will be gone when you reboot your system or when you put your removable device in another system. This provides a better interface for the persons who are all using the public systems.

Follow these steps, try installing android in your system. share your comments and doubts in the comment box below.

Recharge Your Phone Battery Without Charger

Yes that’s true you can recharge your mobile phone battery without charger for a limited time.

It is really annoying when you are away from home and your phone battery goes empty.
If you are not carrying the charger the situation is more worse. What will you do if you have to make a call from your phone.
There is an easy way without having to recharge the batteries charged. Although it did not last long as in the case, but for such cases we can call to simply provide some important news.
You do this by removing the battery from the phone and then rub and rub with hands or to a shirt or your pants for 3-5 minutes.

After a bit of heat, insert the battery into the phone and make an important phone call immediately because the battery life is usually only lasted two minute. The fact behind this is that when the battery is kept in a cool place the faster the battery capacity will be reduced.

If you do this in a rather cold battery condition, battery life time will usually be much longer. May be useful.
